Old-fashioned Stuffed Peach Salad

4 Stuffed Peach Halves

I eat lots of fresh fruit; canned fruit not so much. But a hundred-year-old recipe reminded me that canned fruits are delicious. Stuffed Peach Salad was easy to make, attractive, and most importantly, tasty.

  1. I grew up eating peach halves with cottage cheese and a cherry, served on a lettuce leaf. I do not think I could ever eat another “stuffed peach salad” again, but my mother’s peach cobbler recipe made with canned peaches was awesome and easy. I might need to make one of those if I ever get around to wanting to cook again. 🙂

  2. Many of my favorite peach orchards sell their own peach halves, and they are wonderful. I’ve begun eating them again since finding those tasty gems. As for the ones available in the store, I’ve found that buying the ones packed in water rather than syrup provides a “peachier” experience. I keep them in my hurricane prep stash.
