Her middle-aged granddaughter’s comments 100 years later:
Since Grandma didn’t write much a hundred years ago today, I thought that you might enjoy this advertisement.
Do I remember hearing that you could soak your nails in this to make them stronger???
My grandmother had a bit of an obsession with gelatines–odd concoctions made into salads.
Drank a lot of that when I was young to strengthen my nails but…they are just as thin 50 years later!!!
oh, I wish they would make a jello that actually sparkles! 🙂
Ads sure went on and on back then compared to today’s ads. I do like how they packaged goods back then, old cereal boxes, coffee cans, etc…

Do not get me started on this. My mother used to take this stuff for her lousy nails. It ranks down there with Ovaltine as one of the nasty things in our kitchen cupboard.
My mother used this too and I always heard it was good for the nails. I haven’t used it in years. Love the old ad.
Mmmm…I don’t know that I have tried plain milk jelly.
