Amazing that Malt Breakfast Food costs less than a cent a dish in 1924. Last year I posted a similar advertisement that also indicated that Malt Breakfast Food cost less than a cent a dish. It’s good to know the Malt Breakfast Food continued to be a good deal.

    1. Thanks for sharing the link. It’s fascinating to read about the history of Maltex – and really nice to read that the product is still made.

    1. hmm – I wonder if the malt flavor is less popular now than it once was. I know that malted milk balls are still made, but I almost never see anyone eating them.

  1. Interesting how “Mother” looks more like grandmother. I do look at some of the old family photos, and how many of the mid-age women did look much older in my Grandmothers’ generation.

Our standby by Malt-o-Meal, or occasionally Cream of Wheat.

    1. “Mom” in the drawing looks like she has gray hair. Today many women color their hair. I’m good with gray hair, but maybe a reason she looks older than some mothers today is because she has gray hair.

  2. Our mum used to give us a spoonful of malt extract every morning. Clearly it was a thing back in the day. not that i’m a hundred years old πŸ™‚
