It must have been so difficult for parents to have a newborn who was born in the winter back in the days before central heating. I wonder how they kept the baby warm.
I’ve given many food baskets through the years, but never thought of them as baskets of dainties. Lovely ad. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Sheryl.

Love this ad from 100 years ago. Especially because my grandpa was born on December 11, 1916 and he would’ve been 2 weeks old on Christmas Day.
December is a month full of birthdays in our family. Little Bit’s and mine, my other grandpa’s in 1921, my dad’s, and my sweet nephew Seth has a birthday today!
Thank you Miss Sheryl, for letting me share your post. Seeing it filled my heart with joy and smiles. Happy holidays to you and your family!

That’s a great question. They were in northern Iowa, too, which has some pretty fierce winters. I may ask his sister, she’s 97. ❤️❤️
