Grandma—
It’s awesome that you’re still enjoying your hobby, but more details please.
What was special enough to justify taking TWO pictures? You always use such care when deciding to take a picture. Film is so expensive—and if you are sending the film off to be developed that costs a lot, too. . . and if you’re planning to develop the pictures yourself, that’s a lot of work.

An aside: A new Friday Update is posted on my author website, Sheryl Lazarus.com. This week I’m trying to figure out what I want to do during the final months of A Hundred Years Ago.
Hopefully we’ll get to see them when the film eventually gets developed!
You’ll have to wait and see (but don’t get your hopes too high). 🙂
Okay 😢
We sure have come a long way with photography!!! (Thankfully)
I agree!
Reaching for the camera was not quite as easy as reaching for a cell phone today.
Times have changed–and when it comes to photography–the changes have definitely been for the better.
Sheryl, you’ve been given a great idea with that “tribute dinner.” Provide a list, we could write down what we would bring in those days, and actually have quite a good time reminiscing about your blog. Think about it. And, don’t worry about readers following you to your new blog. Put in a link and it should be fine.
Thanks for the support and kind words. I’m still mulling over your suggestions and the suggestions of others–and hope to come up with something soon.
Every time I read about Helena and her photography, I go hug my digital camera!
So do I. 🙂 I love how you phrased it.
I wish we knew or could see all the photos she took during this time.
Diana xo
So do I, but unfortunately most of her photos have not survived across the years.
I am glad that she still has an interest in photography.
Both then and now, photography is a wonderful hobby.
We take so much for granted!!!
I agree!
How I wish we could see the pictures she took!
So do I!
It’s so good to have your grandma back …
I agree!
Enjoyed all the comments on the new site about how to send off your grandmothers diary!
Two pictures. It makes me realize how much I take for granted my ability to take as many pictures as I want! Even when I used film (seems a long time ago), I could take many.
Photography really was a hobby that was precious and expensive.
