Sunday, February 8, 1914: Went to Sunday school this afternoon. Had an awful time coming home. The wind was simply terrific.

Her middle-aged granddaughter’s comments 100 years later:
Brrr.. . I bet Grandma was ready for a hot drink by the time she got home. . . .maybe a “modern” drink like Steero Bouillon.
Simple pleasures 🙂
Love the two handled cup for bouillon.
We just can’t imagine the hardships our ancestors faced on a regular basis… I remember one of my aunts telling me she woke up one morning to snow ON her bed!
I had no idea bouillion cubes had been around so long. I once lived for several days with only bouillions cubes to eat. Starving university student.
Is that like OXO cubes? So already 100 years ago they had processed food!

I just love those old advertisements!!!
I first saw it as ‘Stereo’. ❓
I had forgotten that bouillion cubes used to be used as a drink and that they weren’t invited in the 50s!!
I still like bouillon cubes as a drink.
The wind is wonderful to watch from inside. You see all the movement it gives to movable objects. The winds sounds interesting, too, but when you are out in it, it cases you to perk your interest in safety. It causes you to be a ware. It causes your nose to run!

We forget, with our cars and mass transit, how much time people used to spend out in the elements!
