No, it’s not just you Sheryl, he looks like a really great “young man”! Didn’t you say he later became a vet? He seems quite happy to let the dog have the rocker for the photo. 🙂
Well, he certainly looks like he knows what’s important in life! He seems to have a look of someone older than seven. I’ve just recently found some tintypes of my great grandparents from the 1800’s… I know what these photos must mean to you. There’s a wonder about actually seeing someone you’ve only ever heard stories about… seeing them in flesh and blood as if they might visit for tea tomorrow.

What a fun idea! I have a blog based on my step-father’s World War II journal and photographs. Similar task but yours is involving a more personal past. We have very old family photos but no one left a journal. Great post and site.
